About Our Club
Cardross Bowling Club was officially opened for play on 5 May 1940 by Lady Denny, wife of the renowned shipbuilder Sir Maurice Denny.
The club was established in response to the growing need for recreational facilities as Cardross expanded during the 1930s with the construction of many new homes. A group of local bowling enthusiasts, supported by public-spirited benefactors and assisted by Cardross Trust, came together to create what would become Cardross Bowling Club.
Their vision was to provide a welcoming sporting and social facility for the local community, laying the foundations for a club that continues to thrive today.
For more than 80 years, Cardross Bowling Club has been at the heart of village life, providing opportunities for sport, friendship, and community involvement. Generations of members have enjoyed the game of bowls while helping to create a strong sense of camaraderie and belonging.
Throughout its history, the club has built a reputation as a friendly and inclusive organisation, proudly supporting both its members and the wider community. While much has changed since its founding, the club's commitment to welcoming people of all ages and abilities remains as strong as ever.
Today, Cardross Bowling Club continues to offer excellent bowling facilities alongside a vibrant social calendar. Whether you are an experienced bowler, a newcomer to the sport, a social member, or a visitor, you can be assured of a warm welcome and the opportunity to become part of a proud community tradition.
